    This plant is a large strawberry-like herb. The evergreen leaves are bright green and three lobed. Flowering occurs in spring, and the delicate flowers are five petaled and colored an attractive deep pink. The fruit is ornamental and edible.

    A wide range of soils is tolerated by this species, but it needs good drainage. It performs best in full sun with a slightly moist soil, but light shade and minor drought are acceptable. The rate of growth is moderate to relatively fast under good conditions.
