Go Back Strawberry ‘Honeoye’

Fragaria x ananassa Honeoye

Plant Type: Fruits

The red fruit has good flavor and texture. It is very hardy and the entire crop ripens in June, early to mid-season. Excellent for pie, fresh eating and jams.

Honeoye strawberry plants were developed by the Cornell Research Station, Geneva, N.Y. over three decades ago. This variety has unusual winter hardiness and can thrive even in very low-temperature areas. In addition to the fact that they can grow in chilly climates, Honeoye strawberry plants are extremely productive.

They are sweet, juicy, and firm. This variety of strawberry will get its best flavor when grown in raised beds or lighter soils. It is recommended by gardeners as a type of strawberry with a strong, sweet, berry flavor. Honeoye strawberries are a classic type of strawberry.
