This spirea is a dense, upright, flat-topped to mounded, compact deciduous shrub. Pink flower clusters in late spring to summer. Attractive to butterflies. Oval, sharply toothed leaves emerge yellow in spring, mature to lime-green in summer and turn attractive shades of red and orange in autumn. Effective in borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens and as low hedges or edging. Excellent for foundation plantings. Tolerates a wide range of soils. Remove faded flower clusters to promote additional blooming. Prune in late winter to early spring.
