Plant Type: Perennials

Well-branched, upright stems, countless small flowers in a vibrant spectrum of red, bronze, and golden yellow shades. Striking in the butterfly garden.  Stake plants for support or pinch early in the growing season to produce shorter plants. Don't be fooled by the common name 'Sneezeweed'! The flowers of this plant are non-allergenic. Instead, it gets its name from the old-time use of the dried, powdered root for snuff. Helenium is a wonderful perennial that is easy to grow and provides months of fabulous color from midsummer through early fall. They are grown commercially as cut flowers because their strong, tall stems are ideal for cutting.
