Plant Type: Hostas

A magnificent Hosta, ‘Remember Me’ offers a wide creamy center surrounded by shades of cool blue-green. Very lush, the heart-shaped 6- by 4-inch leaves make a bold statement on plants just a foot tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. A nice choice for the front of the border or foundation, to edge a path, dot the patio garden, or grace the shady bed.
And unlike almost every other Hosta, ‘Remember Me’ is slug-resistant! Slugs and snails are the bane of Hostas everywhere, so this is a breakthrough of unparalleled dimensions. The leaves remain un-nibbled and beautiful, even in midsummer.

‘Remember Me’ is an improvement of the old favorite ‘June,’ with brighter cream in the center and a fuller habit. It was developed by Walters Gardens in honor of Sandy DeBoer, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2001 at the age of 45. As you select new plants for your shade garden, please bear this very special Hosta in mind.

Space plants about 18 inches apart in moist, well-drained soil receiving at least a half day of shade. Its heat and humidity tolerance are superb, and it is indifferent to soil type provided the drainage is good. Insignificant lavender blooms arise in midsummer, but the real glory of this plant is its giant, colorful heart-shaped leaves and fantastic resistance to slugs. ‘Remember Me’ thrives in zones 4-9.
