Go Back Plum Superior

Prunus 'Superior'

Plant Type: Fruit Trees

One of the first fruit trees to ripen, this is also the easiest plum to grow  It is a popular and hardy fruit tree that produces abundant tasty bright red fruit in late summer; wonderful for eating fresh.  It is a great pollinator for other Japanese plum varieties, and ‘Superior’ requires another Japanese plum for pollination.   This is a fruit tree that bears earlier and heavier than most plum trees.  A good plum tree for zone 4 and a great fruit tree for cold regions. ‘Superior’ has an open spreading habit; needs full sun, and well-drained soil.
