Go Back Pine Wates Golden

Pinus 'Wates Golden Pine'
Rock Garden Icon

Plant Type: Conifer Trees

Here is an excellent variety of pine that is somewhat open. The summer foliage is a nice refreshing light green but in the winter watch out! As the temperatures drop, the color turns a brilliant gold and the colder it gets the brighter the golden color. If you can’t find or afford the Chief Joseph Pine, this would be an excellent replacement. The main difference is the size of the mature plant as the Wates Golden can get from 15-40 feet high and 10-30 feet wide. This full sun, moderate grower is sure to be a hit in your garden.
