Yellow Transparent has two notable qualities. It ripens very early - often as early as the third week of July even in the northern states.

Ripens in late August in Minnesota.

By August, pale purple flowers will start to appear on nine inch scapes.

In mid to late summer, clusters of tiny white flowers will produce inedible purple fruit. Forming a large clump, this deer resistant perennial is paired well with blue Hosta, purple leafed Heuchera, and other woodland plants.
