The fastest growing Oak and one of the easiest to transplant, this tree is great for street use or as a landscape tree. The foliage is dense and lustrous and leaves hang on the tree into winter. Foliage emerges pinkish-red in spring turning glossy, dark green in summer and finally to a russet-red to bright red in fall. Acorns are 3/4-1″ long and are covered with a medium brown cap. Prefers well-drained, acid soils.
