Plant Type: Annuals

For awesome color in the shade, try the Sonic and Super Sonic series of New Guinea Impatiens. These annuals produce plenty of big flowers. The Sonic plants are a little more compact and are best for smaller window boxes and hangers. Super Sonic is bigger, and best for big showy containers and bedding.

The Impatiens New Guinea Sonic are still considered new comers to the world of bedding plants. Most are grown in hanging baskets or patio containers. New Guineas grow best where they will receive morning sun and afternoon shade. They prefer fertile, sandy soil that is rich in organic matter. They also require frequent watering and have poor frost tolerance.
