Hosta 'Midnight Oil'
Butterfly IconHummingbird Icon

Plant Type: Hostas

The Stegemans really came up with something special when they created ‘Midnight Oil’ by crossing ‘Neat Splash Rim’ (an old Florence Shaw plant) onto ‘Potomac Pride’. The result is a plant that was amazingly dark despite being planted in a lot of direct sun.

This hosta has attractive foliage and flowers. Thick dark green leaves are cupped and corrugated. The leaves are very shiny and stand straight up. Purple flowers are in good proportion to the clump really stand out above the green foliage.
