Go Back Ligularia Bottle Rocket

Ligularia 'Bottle Rocket'

Plant Type: Perennials

Unlike older Ligularias, this one is a perfectly proportioned plant with its mustard yellow flowers held on chocolate stems just at the top of the dense clump of foliage so no naked stems are showing.  The flowers are held like a bouquet in the center of the clump, and there are more flowering stems per plant than its parent.   A robust plant with thick, very large, serrated leaves and a dense growing habit.  Sports a compact habit and excellent garden performance!

Growing & Maintenance Tips:

Ligularias are at their best when grown in cool, moist locations in part shade. Protection from the hot, afternoon sun in the south is essential to prevent wilting. They are a natural for the pond side where there is a constant supply of moisture, though they do require good drainage.
