Go Back Lemon Kiss

Hosta 'Lemon Kiss'

Plant Type: Hostas

‘Lemon Kiss’ is proof that backcrossing is all that it’s cracked up to be. ‘Smiley Face’ crossed with its cousin ‘Beet Salad’ produced this little gem, bright yellow with dark “beet” red petioles. Almost a mini, and very cute!

Beautiful soft yellow leaves are held on bright red petioles. The contrast on this hosta is intense and your eye just wants to stare at it. This hosta will glow in the miniature hosta garden. Bob Solberg says, “Sometimes hybridizers have a good thing but still want to make it better.” He did this by crossing H. ‘Smiley Face’ back to H. ‘Beet Salad’.

Blooms purple flowers in late summer.
