Clusters of large, bright red berries, delicious eaten fresh or used in jams and jellies, ripen mid-July. Vigorous bushes are highly ornamental and can be used as a hedge or in small growing areas. Deciduous. Self-fertile.

Growing & Maintenance Tips:

Thrives in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils. Prefers cool summer climates, with shelter from harsh winter winds and mulch to protect root zone. Provide afternoon shade in hot summer regions. For best fruit production, allow 4 - 5 new canes to develop yearly, until there are 15 - 16 canes, then dormant prune the 3 year-old canes to ground level annually.
