Plant Type: Perennials

Lighten up the shade with an extra-bright, profuse infusion of pink! This Astilbe is among the most beautiful of all the shade-loving perennials, filling the mid- to late-summer air with huge 6-inch plumes of brightest pink. These plumes are very densely-packed, set atop 12-inch foliage of bright green. The leaves are as lacy as Ferns, creating even more of an airy, featherlight look. 'Rheinland' is an excellent multi-season plant, producing its feathery flower heads all summer that turn, if the last flowers are left on the plant, into a rich tan for autumn and even early winter. Or cut the blooms for fresh and dried arrangements!

Growing & Maintenance Tips:

Space these plants about 10 to 12 inches apart in a deep, rich, moist soil with plenty of organic matter. 'Rheinland' appreciates plenty of water and mulch during hot, dry summer weather.
