This valuable ornamental tree bears showy white flowers and orange-red fruits. The bark is smooth and dark gray and marked with horizontal lines.  The fall leaf color can range from yellow, red, and reddish purple, making a showy fall display.  A rapid growing tree that is upright when young and spreading at maturity.  Birds will love this tree!  Fruits mature in late spring but often remain on the tree through fall and into early winter, making it a great food source for the birds.
