    Rheingold Arborvitaes don't really need to be trimmed and sheared. Some people will shear them to maintain a certain size. Other people shear them for the crispness of that perfect geometric shape. The natural shape of the Rheingold Arborvitae is almost a globe. It will grow slightly taller than wide over time and become more pear shaped.
