(‘McIntosh’ x ‘Longfield’) University of Minnesota, 1943. A red blush mutation of ‘Fireside’ apple. Similar to ‘Fireside’ except that it has more intense red color. Hardy, heavy bearer. Large size. Excellent for eating or cooking. Distinctive flavor. Fruit keeps well until April or May. Unsuitable pollinator for ‘Fireside’.
