Plant Type: Hostas

The Allegan Emperor Hosta plant forms huge vase-shaped mounds that change colors from bluish green to a shiny dark green by July. This hosta has a very thick substance with leaves a foot wide and long.

Clusters of lavender flowers bloom in July on 48-inch scapes.

Somewhat slow growing however this hosta will form an impressive large mound in time. It is registered as a hybrid of Hosta nigrescens but is more likely related to Hosta ‘Elatior’
